Jewellery Photography Sydney
Jewellery is one of those subjects where the smallest details matter. The way a diamond catches the light, the texture of a handmade finish, the curve of a setting or the subtle difference between polished and brushed metal — all of these things need to come through in the photograph.
As a Sydney jewellery photographer, I work with jewellers, designers, retailers and brands to create images that show their pieces at their very best, without making them look artificial or overworked.
My approach to jewellery photography is simple: good lighting, careful composition, attention to detail and a strong understanding of the product. Jewellery can be particularly challenging to photograph because of its reflective surfaces, gemstones and fine details. Getting the light right is a big part of what makes the final image work.
Jewellery photography that works for your brand
Whether you need clean jewellery product photography for your website and online store, images for a new collection, campaign photography, catalogue images or more creative photographs for advertising and social media, I can work with you to create the right look.
I photograph everything from rings, earrings and bracelets through to necklaces, watches, diamonds and more intricate fine jewellery pieces. Every project is different, so I don’t believe in simply applying the same lighting setup to every product.
Sometimes the jewellery needs to be photographed cleanly and simply, allowing the piece itself to do the talking. Other times, a more considered, creative approach can help communicate the personality of the brand.
Detail matters
With jewellery, there is nowhere to hide. Dust, fingerprints, unwanted reflections and tiny imperfections can become very obvious in a close-up photograph.
I take the time to prepare each piece, control the lighting and refine the image in post-production so that the finished photograph is clean, detailed and true to the original jewellery.
The aim isn’t to make your jewellery look like something it isn’t. It’s to photograph it honestly, beautifully and in a way that gives your customers a real sense of the quality and craftsmanship that has gone into making it.
A Sydney photographer you can work with
My studio is in Alexandria, Sydney, and I work with businesses both locally and further afield. I like to be involved in the process rather than simply receiving a box of jewellery and sending back photographs.
If you’re launching a collection, refreshing your website or looking for a jewellery photographer in Sydney for an upcoming campaign, let’s have a conversation about what you’re trying to achieve.
Bring me your ideas, your jewellery and your brief — and we’ll work out the best way to photograph it.
